Privacy Policy

The plain-English version of how Lifeframe Studio handles your data and the data families share with us through you.

The one-paragraph version

We collect only what we need to produce and deliver a memorial tribute: photographs and biographical text supplied by you or your customer family, your funeral home contact details, and standard web access logs. We do not sell, rent, or share this data with third parties. We delete customer-supplied photographs and finished videos from our delivery servers 30 days after delivery unless you explicitly ask us to retain them. You can request full deletion at any time by emailing [email protected].

Who we are

Lifeframe Studio is an independent US-based memorial tribute studio. We are not a covered entity under HIPAA and we are not a business associate of any covered entity. Family-supplied photographs and biographical text are not protected health information (PHI). When you (a funeral home) send us a family's materials, you do so under your own agreement with that family.

What we collect

From funeral home customers

  • Funeral home name, primary contact name, email, and phone number
  • Billing information (handled by Stripe — see "Third-party processors")
  • Notes you choose to share with us about the rendering job

From customer families (supplied to us by the funeral home)

  • Photographs of the deceased
  • The deceased's name, dates of birth and death
  • A dedication line (one sentence) and optional biographical notes
  • Music preference and length preference

From the website

  • Standard web access logs (IP address, user agent, referrer, page viewed). No cookies set by us. No third-party analytics that fingerprint visitors. No advertising trackers.

What we do with it

  • Produce and deliver a memorial tribute for the family you're serving.
  • Send you (the funeral home) a delivery email and a private preview link.
  • Generate an invoice through Stripe.
  • Keep an internal record of the job for accounting and reorder reference.

That's the entire list. We do not use any of this data for advertising, marketing to other parties, AI training (we do not train any AI model on customer-supplied photographs or biographical text), or sale to anyone.

How long we keep it

  • Customer-supplied photographs: 30 days after delivery, then automatically deleted from our delivery servers. We can retain longer on explicit request; we can delete sooner on request.
  • Finished video files: 30 days after delivery, then deleted from our delivery servers. You receive a downloaded MP4 file as part of delivery; that copy is yours to keep, share, or delete on your own timeline.
  • Funeral home contact information: retained for as long as we have an active business relationship, then deleted on request.
  • Invoices and financial records: retained for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes, as required by US tax law.

Third-party processors

The minimum required to operate. None of these are paid by us to share or sell your data.

We do not use any analytics provider that fingerprints visitors. We do not use any advertising or remarketing pixel. We do not embed any social media tracker.

Your rights

  • Access: ask what we have about you and we will tell you.
  • Correction: ask us to correct any inaccurate information.
  • Deletion: ask us to delete everything we have about you and we will (except records we are legally required to retain — see "How long we keep it").
  • Portability: ask for an export of your funeral home record and we will send you a CSV.
  • Opt out of commercial email: reply STOP to any email from us, or email [email protected]. We honor opt-outs within 10 business days (CAN-SPAM Act requirement).

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

We are not currently subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) because we are well below the revenue and California-resident thresholds that trigger compliance. We voluntarily honor the access, deletion, correction, and opt-out rights described above for any visitor regardless of state.

Children

This service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Photographs of children may appear in customer-supplied tribute materials; we treat all such photographs with the same restrictions described above (no AI training, deleted 30 days after delivery).

Security

  • All website traffic is HTTPS.
  • Customer photographs are transferred and stored using providers (Cloudflare, Google) with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest.
  • Access to delivered files is gated by a private link, not by an open URL.
  • We do not retain any customer-supplied photograph or finished video on local devices longer than necessary for production and delivery.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and email existing customers about the change. We won't apply a substantively narrower policy retroactively.
